What is De-armouring Bodywork?
The Melting Method
The Melting Method is a gentle, trauma informed approach to de-armouring, developed by Sunny Ju, a certified trauma therapist and hypnotherapist with over 20 years of experience in body, breath, and energy work. Rather than forcing release, this approach works gently with the body, allowing armour to melt naturally rather than be broken down.
Over years of holding stress, emotion, and protection, the body builds layers of tension, what we call armour. This armour once served a purpose, but over time it can leave us feeling disconnected, numb, or cut off from pleasure and intimacy. Through breath, touch, and somatic inquiry, we work with these layers at the pace your nervous system can actually integrate, based on the fundamentals of body oriented psychotherapy and how to work with trauma in a safe and gentle way.
This work also opens space to reconnect with your body as a source of aliveness and pleasure, not just protection. Deeper sessions can move into exploring sexuality and healing from sexual trauma, including internal work, always guided by your own pace and consent. Sessions cultivate safety and nourishment in the nervous system and are guided entirely by your intentions. Safety and consent are foundational throughout, grounded in the Wheel of Consent, so you learn to listen to your own body and express your needs as we go.
Dearmouring is more than a modality, it's a path of growth and vulnerability, inviting you to shed stored emotions and limiting patterns and open into deeper intimacy, with yourself and with others.
Sessions are held with care, presence, and no agenda beyond meeting you exactly where you are.
